WP04 Competition, regulations and price fluctuations

by Emmanuel Muhr last modified 27-07-2010 16:13
Objectives:
Traditionally, assessments of trade liberalization have focused on tariff dimension, a deterministic approach which assumes that competition is either perfect or monopolistic. While standard approaches are informative and deal with prominent aspects of the impact of liberalization, they remain overly restrictive. The objective of this work package is to extend the analysis beyond this standard scope and assumptions following three dimensions: the interactions of trade liberalization with market structure, the impact of liberalization on world price volatility, and the trade impact of TBTs and SPS measures.
